Why do I see the ‘on behalf of’ messages in my emails?
Have you received an email that looks like it is ‘from’ someone you know but it was a fake email? Then you have seen how emails can be forged. This is known as phishing, where spammers and phishers use third-party email services to send on behalf of legitimate senders.
To prevent these phishing attempts, some ISPs started to show the recipients more information about suspicious senders. If the server sending the email is not authorized by the domain of the ‘From:’ address, the “via” or “on behalf” message will appear.
My emails are legitimate but my recipients see the ‘via bnc3.esendex.com’?
When your emails are sent through our service, they are sent from the Esendex server. If you have not authorized Esendex as a legitimate sender, the message will appear to your recipients.
How to authorize Esendex as a legitimate sender?
To set Esendex as an authorised sender, you will need to setup your SPF & DKIM authentication for each of your sending domains.
But I am using Gmail (Yahoo, Hotmail, …). How do I change the SPF & DKIM records for my free webmail accounts?
You cannot change the SPF & DKIM records for Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or any other free webmail accounts. You should consider using an email address linked to your website instead. Setting up customized SPF & DKIM records will help improve your reputation and help deliver your emails to your recipient’s inbox.
