GSM Alphabet
Not all keyboard based characters are supported by the mobile networks’ protocol for SMS, so here is a list of the GSM alphabet characters which are supported.
NB: GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications, and refers to the most frequently used alphabet used to write text messages.
As a general rule if you send an unsupported character, it will appear on a handset as the Latin character without the accent; so á will appear as a.
If you need to send as any other character then you can send your message as Unicode, but this will cost more characters.
